RALEIGH – The Carolina Cash 5 drawing has produced a $1 million win for someone who bought a ticket at a Mocksville convenience store.
The winner bought the $1 million ticket at Rushco Food Stores on Salisbury Road in Mocksville. The ticket, drawn Friday, matched all five numbers, 2-12-30-39-40, beating odds of 1 in 962,598.
The winner has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim the prize.
All lottery offices and claims centers are closed in observance of the holidays through Wednesday. Claims centers will reopen Thursday for normal business hours.
The $1 million jackpot was the largest since a new version of the Carolina Cash 5 game began in November with jackpots starting at $100,000, up from $50,000. The largest jackpot so far in the game was $1.7 million that was won in June 2017.
