Kannapolis investigating robbery and shooting at Carolina Taxi

KANNAPOLIS – The Kannapolis Police Department is investing a robbery that took place this morning at Carolina Taxi at 700 S. Main St.

Around 6:30 a.m., two black males, dressed in black clothing, entered Carolina Taxi and attempted to rob an employee. The employee was shot twice. He has been transported to Novant Medical Center-NorthEast, where he is listed in stable condition.

No further information will be released at this time as the investigation is ongoing.

The Kannapolis Police Department requests anyone with information regarding this incident to call 704-920-4000 or Crime Stoppers at 704-932-7463 (CRIME).  A reward is available for anyone providing information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s) in this case.
