SALISBURY — The N.C. Highway Patrol has confirmed the identities of two men killed in a single-vehicle collision on Mooresville Road late Saturday night.

The driver, Scott Vernon Harold Aubin, 37, of Concord, was killed along with a front-seat passenger, Jonathan Jason Palafox, 33, of Kannapolis.

A rear-seat passenger, Rebecca Litaker, 27, of Kannapolis, was injured.

Officials said the three were traveling about 10:35 p.m. in a 1998 Chevrolet Lumina east on Mooresville Road near Neel Road when the vehicle went off the road to the right.

Aubin overcorrected the car, skidded across the road to the left, then struck a tree.

Litaker was trapped for a period of time but was conscious and talking at the scene, officials said.

Few other details were available Wednesday.
