Letter: Business virtues

Honesty, intelligence, ambition, time management, humor mark the specifications of a successful business person. But the business person should also have compassion, no political favoritism, and a creative genius that puts him ahead of the next company.

The capitalistic genius should put his workers first and their families. He should make sure they aren’t overworked, are paid a fair minimum wage and given comprehensive health insurance.

These traits combined with a fostering sense of their community will drive the business person to unseen heights. Businessmen can compete with rival companies while also showing a sense of continuity and community that shows a human side. Competing for the consumers’ pocketbook is good, but also valuing the customer is even better.
