Chris Smith (West Rowan) made two tackles for Cleveland in Sunday’s 26-20 win against Carolina.
College men’s hoops
Queens guard Daniel Carr is the the South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week.
Carr, a junior from North Augusta, S.C., led the Royals to a 2-0 record last week, including a 90-62 win over Lincoln Memorial that snapped LMU’s 36-game SAC winning streak.
Women’s hoops
Lenoir-Rhyne’s Madi Suddreth is the SAC Player of the Week.
A senior forward, Suddreth led the Bears to an upset at Carson-Newman, ending the Eagles’ 27-game home winning streak.

Khaila Hall (West Rowan) scored six points for Longwood in Saturday’s 101-72 loss to Wofford.

Mid. school girls
Knox won against China Grove, 60-21.
Jamecia Huntley and Mary Morgan scored 14 points each. Kyla Bryant added 10. Aniya Brown and Talia Ward scored six, and Shamaya Arnold had five.
Mid. school boys
Knox lost to China Grove, 50-47.
CJ Toomer led Knox with 15 points. Jayden “Juke” Harris scored 12.
Jerome Blakeney III and Jalen Chunn scored six. Chunn had four steals.
Tyreze Miller had five points and three steals. JyMikaah Wells had seven rebounds.
