Piano Recital
Piano students of Tina Brown of Rockwell presented a recital on Saturday, November 17, 2018 in the fellowship hall of Organ Lutheran Church. The theme of the recital was “Dynamic Duets”. Each student played two pieces: one solo and one duet. Several students played duets with their morns. They were Lila Dale with Misty Trexler, Owen with Trudy Overcash, and Diego Corona with Boni Lowry. Other students played duets with Mrs. Brown. Some of the favorite duets were the Cuckoo Clock, Over the Rainbow, Star Wars, Can-Can, Amazing Grace, In My Red Convertible, Shave and a Haircut. The following two Beethoven pieces were heard: Turkish March and Shepherd’s Song.
Performers were: Diego Corona, Hannah Davis, Ashley Drye, Brianna Frye, Alanah Hendren, Nathalie Hendren ,Ryleigh Johnson, Maddie Maultsby, Owen Overcash, Adam Thompson, Clara Tinsley, Baleigh Trexler, Gage Trexler, Lila Dale Trexler and Regan Williams. Also playing duets were adult students, Ken Johnson and Rita Pyndus.

Alzheimer’s Support Group
Denise Fink will speak at the Alzheimer’s Support Group holiday meeting, which will be held Dec. 5 from 5:30-7 p.m. in the private dining room at Trinity Oaks, 728 Klumac Road.
Fink has been the Qualified Professional on the North Carolina Geriatric Adult Mental Health Specialty Team since 2007. She has been a long-term care social worker and has a passion for serving the geriatric population, as well as an appreciation for their caregivers.

The Alzheimer’s Association Support Group in Rowan County meets fourth Thursdays at Trinity Oaks from 5:30-7 p.m. The firsrte 2019 meeting date is Jan. 24.

KHA presents ‘A Sleigh Ride Down Memory Lane’
