Advent begins at Mt. Zion UCC

Immanuel Lutheran gives back
ROCKWELL — Immanuel Lutheran will celebrate the First Sunday in Advent by returning Christmas shopping bags filled by members to Organ Community Outreach Ministries. The project was coordinated by Debbie Cope and Pat Pine. Immanuel is one of several congregations which partner with Organ Lutheran in supplying the Outreach Ministry (open 9-10 a.m. Thursdays except holidays, on Organ Church Road).
Anyone may bring grocery bags to the church filled with hot chocolate, egg noodles, canned chicken, bar soap, shampoo, soups, peanut butter, jelly, saltine crackers, toilet paper, facial tissue, paper towels, boxed mac and cheese, canned pastas and canned vegetables and fruits.

Special concert benefits the Pregnancy Support Center
Jacob Johnson, from Travelers Rest S.C., who recently performed in the Salisbury Christmas Parade, will be performing a special benefit Christmas concert for the Pregnancy Support Center on Friday Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. at The Inn, 1012 Mooresville Hwy 150.
Local performer Sarah Claire King will be the opening act for the concert.

Purpose Driven Life classes
Purpose Driven Life classes are hosted by In My Father’s House, led by Rev. Roosevelt Jenkins. They are held from 10-11 a.m. on the first and second Thursday of each month, at Brookdale Assisted Living, 2201 Statesville Blvd. The next study dates are Dec. 6 and 13.

Root of David Church of Deliverance
