A special upcoming Christmas concert show on Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. will be a fundraiser to benefit the Pregnancy Support Center of Rowan County.
Hosted by The Inn, 1012 Mooresville Road, the concert will feature two talented performers who will share their own arrangements of popular Christmas tunes, as well as a few originals.
The featured guest performer will be guitarist and singer/songwriter Jacob Johnson of Travelers Rest, S.C. Jacob is guitar instructor at North Greenville University. He recently was a local crowd favorite in the “’Tis the Season Spectacular” Christmas parade.
Jacob has performed in shows with such artists as Phil Keaggy and Tommy Emmanuel, and in listening rooms and festivals all over the East Coast. He has been described as “James Taylor meets Tommy Emmanuel, with a twist of Dick Van Dyke.”
His vocal songs feature a soulful interpretation of some of our favorites.

And his instrumental playing features a distinctive guitar style including harmonic tapping and jazzy riffs. One music publication said of him, “The guitar is not just an instrument in the hands of Jacob Johnson. It’s his soulmate.”
Jacob’s selections will include his versions of popular holiday songs such as “White Christmas,” “Silent Night,” “Little Drummer Boy” and “The Christmas Song.”
Singer/pianist Sarah Claire King of Statesville will open the show on keyboard and vocals. Sarah, who is from a musical family, started playing piano at age 5. She became passionate about pursuing a music career at age 14.
She and partner Eli Yacinthe’s performance in last year’s “’Bury Home Companion” at Meroney Theatre received a standing ovation. Her ultimate thrill came in 2017 when she performed the Eagles’ “Desperado” on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
Advance tickets are available until the day of the show at $15. A special rate for churches or other community groups is $12.50 for 12 or more adults. Admission at the door will be $20.
For reserve tickets, call Erica at 704-633-7695 or Tom at 704-213-1467. All advance tickets must be paid and picked up by Dec. 6.
Pastors, church and community groups are encouraged to request flyers and posters, which can be picked up or emailed, and to share this event via social media.
