Members of the graduate chapter, Delta Xi Omega, of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority attended the Western Carolina Cluster, Mid-Atlantic Region, to learn more about the best practices, strategies and tips for implementing locally the sorority’s program for the next quadrennium.
The new International Program, Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service, has five program targets, a Signature Program, and seven Community Impact Days.
The five targets are HBCU 4 Life: A Call to Action; Women’s Healthcare and Wellness; Building Your Economic Legacy; The Arts! and Global Impact.
College Admissions Process, the Signature Program, focuses on motivating and assisting young people through the college entry process.
The seven Community Impact Days include Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, Pink Goes Red for Heart Health, AKA Global Impact, International Day of Prayer, Breast Cancer Awareness, Caregivers’ Day and HBCU Week.
The Mid-Atlantic Regional Leadership Team and International Committee Members guided the 386 attendees through each level of the international progam. The interactive presentations encouraged the attendees to give feedback and share ideas that would solidify the program that was designed to be a benefit their local communities.
