SALISBURY — A Salisbury teenager was charged with possession of marijuana after someone reported a suspicious car in the area of Elm and Fries streets Friday night.

The Salisbury Police Department charged Jaquan Andrew Davis, 18, of the 200 block of Harrel Street, with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a controlled substance Schedule VI and felony maintaining a dwelling or vehicle to traffic in a controlled substance.

An officer stopped the car about 9:30 p.m. because it had no front headlight or taillight burning. The officer noted that the car smelled of marijuana.

A 15-year-old had a small amount of marijuana in his pocket. He was issued a juvenile citation.

The officer found 28 grams of marijuana in a Mason jar, a digital scale and plastic wrap inside a backpack that also had a piece of school paper with Jaquan Davis’ name on it.

A third person in the car was not charged.
