Sacred Heart Catholic School celebrated the annual Blessing of the Animals on Tuesday in memory of St. Francis of Assisi.

Sacred Heart teaches students that every creature is important. The Sacred Heart community believes that the love people give to a pet and receive from a pet can draw them more deeply into the circle of life and the wonder of a common relationship to God.

The Rev. John Eckert prayed over the animals and blessed them with holy water.
