Letter: Presumed innocent, remember?

An article printed in the Salisbury Post on Oct. 4, from the Washington Post, said 800 law students from Harvard (supposedly one of the premier law colleges in the U.S.) had written and signed a letter urging the university to rescind Judge Kavanaugh’s appointment as a lecturer at the school stating, in part, “this is not the kind of person we want teaching and shaping the minds of law students.”

Um, you’d think of all people, law students and law professors would be mindful of “the presumption of innocence” and “fair trial for the accused” and “trial by an unbiased jury.” You’d think. Well, I guess not.

Next they’ll be banning books they don’t like, just as was done in Nazi Germany, Socialist Italy and Stalinist Russia. Remember, this is America. At least I think so. I can’t see a defense for presumption of guilt. Shame on them.
