AAUW lecture series features Amanda Cody

The AAUW Lecture Series meeting 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11 features Amanda Cody, vice president of information security for National Geographic Partners, speaking on “Women in Technology Security.”

Cody is responsible for the National Geographic Partners Information Security program which includes business to consumer security, application security, security awareness, incident management, and risk management. Prior to joining National Geographic in 2015, Ms. Cody lead Information Security Operations for American Red Cross, where she was responsible for traditional security operations and identity and access management. She began her career as an Arabic linguist in the Marine Corps. While active duty, she began supporting Cyber Operations, which lead to her transition into Information Security. Following her time in the Marine Corps, Amanda worked as a consultant with DC-based firms in support of DoD and IC Security engagements. With over 15 years of experience in strategic and operational roles, Amanda is a leader who defines and operationalizes strategic initiatives to improve Information Security programs. Amanda holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Information Systems from Strayer University and is a CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional).
