Letter: Trashing the city

Congratulations to Salisbury’s city leadership on another bad idea forced on the taxpayers. Not only do citizens have to go deep into East Spencer to dispose of electronics, but now everyone must call for an appointment if they can’t fit something into their bin. Then they must go to the water department to pay an extra fee above and beyond the water and sewer/trash pickup bill and taxes, which have been jacked up to pay for previous fiscal foul balls.

Electronics and trash are now abandoned wherever it is convenient and risk is low, and whoever’s land the trash happens to fall on is forced to pay the city to pick it up. Furthermore, until it is picked up, it contributes to the city’s appearance as a paved landfill, and some of it will likely never be picked up. I have seen the same television on the side of the road on Crosby Street for over a month.
