Three charged in Maple Avenue heroin bust; two others sought

SALISBURY — Three people have been arrested on charges of trafficking in heroin after a nearly four-month investigation, according to the Salisbury Police Department.

Two other suspects are being sought in connection with the case.

The Police Department’s Special Response team, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, searched a home at 904 Maple Ave. on Thursday.

The three people arrested are:

• Teri Jean Davis, 51, of 904 Maple Ave. She is charged with six counts of trafficking in opium, four counts of possession with intent to manufacture a controlled substance, and four counts of maintaining a dwelling for trafficking in a controlled substance. Davis remains in the Rowan County jail under a $250,000 bond.

• Julie Suzanne Beach, 26, of 1070 Henderson Grove Church Road. She is charged with one count of maintaining a vehicle for the purpose of selling controlled substance, three counts of trafficking in heroin, and driving while license revoked. Beach remains in the county jail under a $50,000 secured bond.

• Tyrone Edward Oliver, 33, of 206 Newsome Road. He is charged with three counts of trafficking in opium and one count of being a fugitive from South Carolina. Oliver remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $75,000 secured bond.

Law enforcement officers seized 7 grams of heroin and two guns at the Maple Avenue home.

Salisbury police are still looking for two people in connection to the investigation. Amber Rose Strickland, 30, and Raymond Nicholas James, 25, are both wanted on multiple drug-related offenses.

Assisting the Police Department with the investigation were the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit and Crime Reduction Unit teams; Mocksville Police Department; U.S. Department of Homeland Security; U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Task Force; and the State Bureau of Investigation.
