Working together works

The fourth annual At The Cross  Ministries “Youth Stand for Christ” will be held Saturday, Sept. 22 from 8:30 a.m. til 3:30 p.m..

The event will be at the J.F. Hurley YMCA, 828 Jake Alexander Blvd.
Teams will participate in numerous activities including wall climb, basketball, swimming, volleyball, kick ball, group “talk it out” sessions and “inspiring team building sessions.”
Appropriate clothing is required to participate in activities.Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided.
Registration is now open for boys and girls ages 9 to 16. Teams or individuals must call 704-433-6662 to register or to obtain information
Education Golf Tournament
Rowan Partners for Education will hold a golf tournament Friday, Sept. 28 to raise money for education “mini-grants,” which will go to local teachers.
The event will be held at Warrior Golf Course in China Grove. The cost is $75 per player, which includes a $10 lunch coupon at the clubhouse.

Marching Band Preview
Rowan County’s Marching Band Preview will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22, at North Rowan High School’s stadium, 300 N. Whitehead Ave., Spencer.
This community event features performances by each of Rowan County’s high school marching bands and concludes with a spectacular joint performance.
Gates open at 5 p.m. Performances begin at 6 p.m. and conclude around 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 with children 5 and under free. Concessions available.
