SALISBURY — In conjunction with the Rowan County Literacy Council, Communities In Schools of Rowan County will present volunteer training on 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, in at the Hurley Room of the Rowan Public Library, 210 W. Fisher St.

People wishing to be trained to be a volunteer tutor for students at Hanford Dole, Koontz and North Rowan elementary schools should contact Dr. Ron Turbyfill at ron@cisrowan.org.

Training specific to the improvement of reading through volunteer tutoring will be presented by Rowan County Literacy Council.
