Downtown Salisbury Inc., RCCC Small Business Center team up for downtown lecture series

Downtown Salisbury, Inc and The Small Business Center of Rowan-Cabarrus Community College partnered to provide business education to downtown Salisbury business owners.

The series will begin Oct. 15 with a summit featuring three North Carolina small business experts. The speakers include:

• Amanda Belue will lecture on “Improving Your First Impression and Attracting More Customers.” Belue is a small business owner, merchandising expert and consultant. Her work with retail businesses focuses on improving sales through better merchandising techniques. She promises to share many secrets that will get retailers on their way to selling more product.

• Tonya Snider will lecture on “Telling Your Money Where to Go Instead of Wondering Where it Went.” Snider is the founder and CEO of tenBiz, Inc., a firm specializing in business strategy, training and project management, which has helped many companies grow, streamline and improve their bottom line.

  John Woods will lecture on “Marketing: Unlocking Your Unique Impact.” Woods has 25 years of experience in sales, marketing and management in corporations across the U.S. Fifteen years ago, he transitioned into small business ownership and has started three companies. He now consults small businesses on marketing and strategic planning.

The Downtown Salisbury Entrepreneurship Summit, hosted by F&M Bank, will be at F&M Bank’s Randall W. Hemann Room at 221 N.Main Street, Suite 120. The half-day summit will include a light breakfast and box lunch.

2 Rowan Chamber events this week

The Rowan County Chamber of Commerce will host a Business After Hours mixer on Monday and a Women in Business meeting on Thursday.

The Business After Hours will be Sept. 10, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott, at 120 Marriott Circle. Chamber members can network, pass out business cards and enter into door prize drawings.

Women in Business will hold a meeting on Sept. 13, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Carillon Assisted Living, 1915 Mooresville Road.
