Biz briefs: Health care consultants receive professional designation

Healthcare Management Consultants recently recognized two members of its staff for achieving a professional designation as certified health care business consultants.

Robert Carpenter and Charles Whaley, CPA, received certification through the National Society of Certified Healthcare Business Consultants after completion of coursework and an examination. Carpenter and Whaley joined the firm in 2017 and 2015, respectively.

Carpenter is a consultant in the Southern Pines office. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting at Methodist University in Fayetteville. He lives in Southern Pines with his wife, Shannon.

Whaley is a consultant in the Salisbury office. He received a bachelor’s degree from N.C. State University and a master’s of science in accounting from Appalachian State University. Whaley lives in Salisbury with his wife, Lauren, and their two children, Margaret and Banks.

Healthcare Management Consultants, formed in 1966, provides business expertise and solutions for practice optimization to medical and dental clients in six states with offices in Salisbury and Southern Pines. The firm will relocate its Salisbury office from Statesville Boulevard to a downtown location in the fall of 2019.
