Staff report

SALISBURY — The 65th annual Crowder/Dorsett Memorial Labor Day 4-Ball Golf Tournament continued on Sunday at the Country Club of Salisbury.

Some of Saturday’s first round had been delayed by stormy weather and then darkness, so the event was in catch-up mode throughout the day and into the evening on Sunday. Again, play was suspended with five groups left on the course. Those five groups will finish their second round matches on Monday at 7:45 a.m.

Four men’s teams remain in contention for the coveted open championship — defending champs Lee Frick and Blake Wray, Jason and Seth Correll, Clark Alcorn and Alex Nianouris, and Tyler Mulkey and Jordan Taylor. Those teams battle in the semifinals at 8 a.m. and the two winners play for the title at 1 p.m.

Posted tee times will begin at 8 a.m., beginning with the semifinals of the championship flight. The final matches of the Open flights will follow. Starting at 9:36 will be the divisional championships (55+ at 9:36, 65+ at 9:44 and the women’s championship at 9:52).
