Letter: Rededicate statue

I propose that Fame, the statue, remain in its present location with a new dedication, ceremony and plaque declaring the angel to be holding a victim of all wars or at least a victim of the Civil war representing Union and Confederate soldiers. This dedication is made in recognition of both the good and bad in our past and with intention of joining the city together in the present and for the future.
The statue is of such artistic beauty it need not be removed from its place but be reborn as a icon of the city’s resolve to join together in peace.
