SALISBURY — Two Charlotte men who were tracked down shortly after a breaking and entering on Earnhardt Road now face multiple charges.

Reginald Davis Jr. and Dasan Villegas were identified by the victim.

About noon Friday, a call to 911 came from a home in the 1500 block of Earnhardt Road to report a break-in. The victim watched the intruders on a live security camera feed from inside and outside the home.

The victim gave a detailed description of the suspects while they were inside the residence. Patrol deputies were dispatched as the victim and the security company were relaying information to Rowan County 911.

Deputies noticed a black Ford Focus in the driveway and also saw one suspect run out of the house. Master Deputy Holshouser arrived with K9 Echo to track the suspects.

Detectives found a stolen pistol at the back of the house. The K-9 tracked the suspects into the woods but circled back to the house. The suspects were seen on a road not far from the residence and ran back into the woods.

Detectives chased the two suspects as they fled. Onc suspect reached a fence and creek he had to cross. After seeing that the detectives and K9 were close on their heels, the two suspects surrendered.

The Ford Focus in the driveway belonged to Reginald Davis and had stolen property in the back seat, authorities said. The suspects had taken electronics, firearms and jewelry from the Earnhardt Road residence.

Villegas was charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, 11 counts of larceny of a firearm, and resisting or obstructing a law officer. He was given a $202,500 secured bond.

Davis was charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, 11 counts of larceny of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and resisting or obstruct a law officer. He was given a $260,000 secured bond.

All of the stolen items from the break-in were returned to the owner.
