Letter: Sitting train might hinder emergency vehicles

Published 1:00 pm Wednesday, August 15, 2018

I have been living near 11th Street off Long Street for about 15 years. During this time, I have noticed how the train will stop and just sit there for sometimes more than 30 minutes. It poses a concern for me as a citizen, because I can’t help but think about emergency vehicles needing to cross these tracks to get to the hospital. The emergency vehicle would have to go to Andrews Street bridge or to Innes Street to cross over the tracks. The situation needs to be addressed by someone with the railway administrators.
