Letter: Prices keep rising, but not incomes

Published 9:52 pm Saturday, August 4, 2018

In April prices increased for food, tobacco and other things we use everyday. Now it is August, and I just read that Duke Power will increase our utility bill. Tobacco prices will rise because of Trump’s tariffs, along with car prices and other goods that we need. How much more of this do we have to take?

I can barely afford to buy my medicine every month. I think customers should boycott these businesses who want to take every dime they can from us. I just don’t get it.

Some people are working two jobs to make ends meet and barely get by. We need the minimum wage to be increased to $10 an hour locally. Gov. Roy Cooper needs to work for the good of the people in this state. Thanks.
