Rowan weather: Rain, rain is here to stay

The flash flood watch for our area has been extended to 8 a.m. Friday, with more rain expected today, Thursday and Friday.

Today will be mostly cloudy and 83, with south southwest wind at 7-9 mph. The chance of showers and thunderstorms will be 60 percent, with a tenth to quarter inch of rain expected.

Tonight will also have a 60 percent chance of showers and storms, with cloudy skies and a low of 70. Winds will be from the south at 3-7 mph. Patchy fog will form around 3 a.m. Another half to three-quarters of an inch of rain is possible.

Thursday will have an 80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with patchy fog before 10 a.m. It will be 81, with south wind at 5-8 mph. A half to three-quarters inch of rain is possible.

Thursday night will also have an 80 percent chance of showers and storms, with a low of 69, and south wind around 7 mph. Again, three-quarters to one inch of rain is possible.

Friday has a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with cloudy skies and a high near 81. South southwest wind will be at 6-8 mph. Friday night’s chance of rain is the same, with a low of 68.

Saturday will have a 30 percent chance of showers between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., then a chance of storms after 3. It will be mostly cloudy and 85. Saturday night’s chance of showers and storms will be 40 percent, with a low of 70.

Sunday will also have a 40 percent chance of showers and storms, mainly after 11 a.m. It will be partly sunny and 88. The same chance of rain continues Sunday night, with a low of 70 and mostly cloudy skies.

Monday will be partly sunny and 89, with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The same chance of rain is possible Monday night, with another low of 70.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny and 90, with another 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
