First Presbyterian welcomes new pastors

SALISBURY — First Presbyterian Church will welcome the Revs. Josh and Lara Musser Gritter for their first worship services as new co-pastors of the church on Sunday, Aug. 5.
The Musser Gritters are coming to Salisbury from the two-year Cynthia Price Pastoral Residency program at Greensboro’s First Presbyterian Church. Both are graduates of Duke Divinity School in Durham.
Josh is a native of Holland, Michigan. He earned his undergraduate degree at Seattle Pacific University, where he studied Christian scriptures and spent a semester in the Old City in Jerusalem.
Lara did most of her growing up in Naperville, Illinois. She also earned a degree from Seattle Pacific, in her case studying Christian theology with an emphasis on women’s studies. She earned the Jameson Jones Preaching Award while at Duke Divinity.
The couple are to share many duties, including preaching and planning. Josh will lead the church’s youth ministry.
