Salisbury police charge local man with May murder of man on North Shaver Street

SALISBURY — A Salisbury man has been charged in the May 28 murder of a man outside a North Shaver Street home.

Police charged Tracy Maurice Pruitt, 50, of the 500 block of East Cemetery Street with first-degree murder in the death of Michael Duren Faulk.

The Salisbury Police Department was assisted on the case by the State Bureau of Investigation.

Faulk, 44, was found about 2 a.m. May 28 outside the North Shaver Street home. Police have said his body was lying in the driveway about two blocks from where he lived.

He died of multiple gunshot wounds and was shot while riding his bicycle.

Police said they arrested Pruitt without incident at his place of employment. He is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center without bond.

Pruitt has a few misdemeanor convictions on his record, including driving infractions, assault on a female, larceny, and breaking and entering.
