SALISBURY — Former professional football player Jason Carthen is coming to Salisbury on Saturday to boost JLT Fieldhouse, a basketball and mentoring program.

Carthen, now a motivational speaker known as “The Leadership Linebacker,” will visit the program at Salisbury Academy at 2 p.m. to do a video endorsement for JLT Fieldhouse and its programs as the organization conducts a capital campaign.

The nonprofit is raising funds so it can have its own facility. JLT Fieldhouse recently established a GoFundMe page at https://www.gofundme.com/jltfieldhouse

Cauthen was an All-Conference player at Ohio University. He had a three-year career in the NFL from 1993 to 1995, playing for the New England Patriots two years. Most of his career has been spent as an entrepreneur and leadership and business coach.

JLT Fieldhouse offers year-round one-on-one and team-oriented basketball training as well as lessons in leadership, teamwork, goal setting and overcoming obstacles.
