Letter: To tell the truth

Published 12:00 am Sunday, July 22, 2018

It makes me very sad that we have a president that does not tell the truth.

When he was meeting with Putin in Russian, he said he had no reason to believe that Russia would interfere in our elections. The next day his explanation was he meant to say that there is no reason to believe Russia “wouldn’t” interfere in our election. It is obvious that the “wouldn’t “ does not fit into the context of this sentence.

Besides making me sad, this is also dangerous. A single word in another situation could be a life or death decision.

We would not tolerate it if our children did not tell the truth. We teach them respect and accountability. It should be the norm to expect this from our president. Where are our role models?

Vote your conscience in November.
