Chance Cheerwine encounter gives Salisbury native a taste of home
Staff report
Former Salisbury resident Nancy Mills got a surprise when she walked into a Lynchburg, Virginia, restaurant recently — a sign promoting Cheerwine as a local flavor “from Salisbury, NC.”
And Mills just happened to be wearing her Cheerwine Legends T-shirt at the time.
She shared a photo with the Salisbury Post.
Mills, who was born and raised in Salisbury, moved with her husband, Max, to Lynchburg 13 years ago.
“We are faithful Cheerwine drinkers, and we’re pleased to see that Biscuitville now serves our Cheerwine here,” she wrote. “We walked into Biscuitville to get their famous breakfast, me wearing my beloved Cheerwine shirt, and at the door was this sign welcoming us and Cheerwine.”
There’s nothing like a little taste of home.
