Students attend Camp Challenge
Ten Rowan-Salisbury Schools students recently experienced a week at Camp Challenge in Greensboro. Under the sponsorship of Communities in Schools of Rowan County and North Carolina Bankers Association, the camp affords rising sixth, seventh and eighth graders an opportunity to experience a wide variety of outdoor activities.
Student were able to enjoy horseback riding, swimming, archery, arts and crafts, canoeing, photography and much more. All campers were taught a short class in financial literacy.
Local students attending Camp Challenge included: Arin Blue, Joshua Burns, Teashia Ellis, Elijah Foreman, Davaiiah Griffin, Madalinn Griffin, Jakaiya Hyde, Akira Jackson, Jamasia Jackson and Bella Donna Ritchie.
Rowan County Homeschool Association informational meeting
The Rowan County Homeschool Association will hold an informational tea July 24 at the Rowan County Public Library’s Salisbury location. The tea will be from 4 to 7 p.m. and is a drop in event. Experienced homeschoolers will be on hand to answer questions. The association will answer questions about the homeschool law as well as practical day-to-day aspects of homeschools.
The Rowan County Homeschool Association is a mutual support organization, not an educational institution.
