Arrest made in fatal shooting of Gold Hill man

ALBEMARLE — An altercation led to the fatal shooting of a Gold Hill man Monday and the arrest of his suspected attacker, according to the Albemarle Police Department.

Jason Dennis Braley, 34, of Gold Hill, was found dead on Anderson Road near the VFW Hut on Monday morning.

Officers found his body after responding to a 10:34 a.m. call about shots fired. Braley had multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers arrested Hasan Akeem Webster of Badin at the scene and charged him with first-degree murder.

“At this point in the investigation, we know that Mr. Webster and Mr. Braley became involved in a heated argument that resulted in Mr. Webster displaying a firearm and shooting Mr. Braley multiple times,” said a Police Department news release.

Webster was taken to the Stanly County Jail.
