Kannapolis Congregational Holiness
KANNAPOLIS — The Kannapolis Congregational Holiness Church, 717 Robin Ave., will celebrate homecoming on Sunday at 10 a.m. with guest speaker Rev. Jack Crain, retired minister from the Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church and campground in Rutherfordton. There will be special singing by the CHC Youth Choir. Lunch will be served following the service.

Christ UMC worship in the park
MT. ULLA – Christ United Methodist Church, on Hwy 150, will have an 11 a.m. worship service at Sloan Park, 550 Sloan Road, on Sunday. A meal will be served immediately afterward; the main dish is provided, bring a side or dessert to share. Bring a folding chair and be a part of children’s and adult activities.

Appreciation service at Moore’s Chapel
CLEVELAND — The appreciation service for Rev. Eddie L. and Barbara E. Fortson is at 11 a.m. with speaker Rev. Christopher Sherrill of Shiloh Baptist Church, Concord Lunch is at 2:30 p.m. 3 p.m.: Rev. Harold Jordan from Third Creek AME Zion of Cleveland. Services are Moore’s Chapel AME Zion Church, 5890 South River Church Road.

Providence AME Zion
Providence AME Zion Church, 2415 Providence Church Road, hosts an appreciation service on Sunday for its pastor, Rev. Zacharias E. Allen Sr. The 11 a.m. speaker is Rev. Aldana Allen, pastor of Providence United Methodist Church, 6450 Providence Church Road. An appreciation luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall at 1:30 p.m. Guests appearing on the luncheon program include Rebecca Stinson, local artist, Vergie Johnson, member of Fairview Heights Baptist Church, and the Providence Men’s choir.

Cedar Grove AME Zion
Cedar Grove AME Zion Church will honor its pastor, Rev. Dr. Bertha E. Pittman and First man William (Bill) Pittman, on Sunday during the 11 a.m. service. The speaker will be Evangelist Willette Johnson, aka “Gufu” the Gospel Comedian. Lunch will be served following service.

First UCC
First United Church of Christ, 207 West Horah St., welcomes Wendy Weant as guest soloist at the 11 a.m. service on Sunday. Wendy is a former NYC professional musical theater performer. In Salisbury she has performed with Piedmont Players, Lee St. Theatre and the Salisbury Symphony, and is a soloist with First Presbyterian Church. She dedicates her music ministry in memory of Dr. Paul Oakley and in honor of former First UCC music director Dennis Jewett. Rev. Carol Hallman is host pastor.

Erwin Temple CME
Erwin Temple CME Church, 155 Erwin Temple Church Road. will observe the 12th pastoral anniversary of Rev. Ervin L. Hannah Jr. on Sunday during the morning service.
The Praise Team will sing, followed by a message from Rev. Robert L. Divens Jr., pastor of Tarpley Chapel Baptist Church of Dry Fork, Va. Colors selected for the day are yellow and gray.
Following the service, lunch will be served, hosted by the Pastor’s Aide Ministry.

Rhema Praise and Worship
SPENCER – The choir of Rhema Praise and Worship Church, 117 Long Ferry Road, is celebrating its seventh anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday by sponsoring a musical concert. Guests will be By Faith Praise Team and The McCoy Family, both of Charlotte.
Local choirs, soloists and dance worshipers are invited to participate. Host pastor is Rev. Alonza Williams Sr.

Boxwood Missionary Baptist
MOCKSVILLE — Boxwood Missionary Baptist Church will present a Pre-Fathers Day Concert sponsored by the Pastors Aid Ministry at 3 p.m. on Sunday, to celebrate fathers past and present. Dinner will be served after the service. Groups include Messengers for Christ, Mt. Zion Baptist Church Men’s Choir, Gethsemane Baptist Church men’s Choir, the Gospel Keytones and the Gospel Lyrics, all of Salisbury.

KANNAPOLIS — United Baptist Church, 3001 Clermont Ave., celebrates its 45th anniversary on the Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. Clarence Marlin, pastor of Fairview Heights Baptist Church, will be the guest preacher. Rev. John Edward Jones is host pastor.

St. Luke Missionary Baptist
The men of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 410 Hawkinstown Road, will observe their Annual Men’s Day Sunday at 3 p.m. with guest preacher Rev. George Greene of Christian Home United Church of Christ. Dinner will be served immediately following the morning service.

New Hope AME Zion

New Hope AME Zion Church will celebrate its annual Men’s Day on Sunday at 3 p.m. with guest speaker Rev. Robert N. Kelley, pastor of Moore’s Chapel AME Zion Church.

Rev. Kelley, a Winston-Salem native, served in the  United States Marine Corps for 20 years and one month, retiring as  Gunnery Sergeant in 2005. He is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. he holds a bachelor of science  in religion and a master of divinity degree from Hood Theological Seminary.

There will be special music by the Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church men’s choir and a community men’s choir. Phyllis Partee will accompany the community choir. Rev. Dr. Debra J. Hall is host pastor.

Men’s Day at Love Christian Center

EAST SPENCER — Love Christian Center, 102 N Long St., will celebrate Men’s Day Sunday at 4 p.m. with speaker Bruce Elliott Little, pastor and Founder of the Miracle House of Hope Ministries and Miracle House Tabernacle Church SOP of Charlotte.
Pastor Bruce was involved in drugs, alcohol, jail and prison. In 2007, he made a conscious decision to seek help, rode the bus to Georgia and was led to Atlanta Restoration under the leadership of Pastor Vincent Jones. Bruce had been oppressed by the enemy for 22 years. In July 2008, he returned home to Charlotte, earned his license as a Minister and began to work fulfill his vision to rescue those who were lost and needed intervention.
