DENTON – N.C. Department of Transportation contractors must close the N.C. 47 bridge that crosses Lick Creek between Snyder Station Road and Tysinger Road, while they replace the aging structure in Davidson County.

The roadway will be closed starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, June 4. Work is expected to be complete and the road reopened by January 2019.

Local traffic will be able to access homes from either end of the closure, but will not be able to pass beyond the closure points on either side of the work area. Drivers will use Yates Road and Flat Swamp Road as the 3-mile detour.

Motorists should watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
