Pathways to College Summer Camp

Rising juniors and seniors in the Crosby Scholars program are invited to participate in the second annual Pathways to College summer camp hosted in partnership with Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.

The camp will explore career counseling, college acceptance, financial aid, scholarship essays and transfer from a two-year college to a four-year college. Students will develop an individual project outlining their path to post-secondary education in conjunction with guest speakers from local colleges and camp instructors. They will also work on a group entrepreneurial proposal to benefit the community. Students will receive college credit after completion of the camp.

The Pathways to College summer camp will take place Monday, June 11 through Friday, June 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in building 600 on Rowan-Cabarrus Community College’s North Campus. Lunch is provided.

GPA Land Camp

In partnership with Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, Crosby Scholars will host a free GPA Land Camp for active rising ninth-grade Crosby Scholars students on June 18-19.

During this two-day interactive camp, students will learn the importance of GPA in high school and its impact on their post secondary education. Students will be able to connect their interests to a profession, and navigate their academic pathway. Possible roadblocks during high school — such as social media, unhealthy relationships and more — will also be addressed. Students will use CFNC assessment tools, college games and participate in panel discussions. Lunch will be provided.

Achievement in Motion camp

The camp will emphasize the development of successful life skills and will run June 20-22 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Rowan-Cabarrus Community College’s North Campus. Lunch is provided.
