Rowan weather: Here comes that rainy day again

Will this ever end? It looks like we are stuck with cloudy days and periods of showers and thunderstorms through the week.

We’re no longer under a flash flood watch, but some of the thunderstorms could become severe, leading to heavy downpour, frequent lightning and gusty winds. The conditions could take down some trees, as well.

Today the 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms will be mostly late this afternoon. Fog will linger until around 10 a.m. It will be cloudy and 82, with south wind at 6-9 mph. A tenth to quarter inch of rain is possible.

Tonight, showers and thunderstorms are likely, mainly before 9 p.m. The chance of rain will still be 60 percent. It will be mostly cloudy with a low of 70 and south southwest wind at 6-8 mph. Another tenth of an inch of rain is possible.

Thursday also has a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, likely after 1 p.m. It will be mostly cloudy with a high of 85 and south southwest wind at 5-8 mph. A tenth to quarter inch of rain is possible.

The same chance of showers and storms hangs around Thursday night, with mostly cloudy skies and a low of 70. Southwest wind around 5 mph will calm in the evening. Another tenth of an inch of rain is expected.

Friday will have a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. It will be partly sunny and hot, with a high of 89. Wind will be from the west at 5-7 mph.

The chance of rain Friday night is 40 percent, with a low of 69.

Saturday, at this point, has a 50 percent chance of showers, with thunderstorms in the late morning. It will be partly sunny and 87. The chance of showers and storms Saturday night will be just 30 percent, so you can come out and enjoy Pops at the Post. The low will be 67, with mostly cloudy skies.

Sunday will be partly sunny and 83, with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms The low will be 64, with a 30 percent chance of storms and showers.

Monday will be partly sunny and 80, with a 30 percent chance of showers. The same chance of showers is possible Monday night, with a low of 64.

Tuesday might be our first real break, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 83, no mention of rain.
