SALISBURY — The annual Blockwork program is back again.

Blockwork brings residents, volunteers and community partners together to build cleaner and safer neighborhoods one block at a time.

In seven years, Blockwork has spruced up several neighborhoods, including last year on West Monroe Street and in Chestnut Hill and the Brooklyn South Square neighborhood, where Blockwork started in 2010.

Blockwork uses money from the city of Salisbury as well as donations of goods and discounts from local businesses. Projects for volunteers include carpentry, painting, landscaping and cleanup.

Contact the city of Salisbury to nominate a neighborhood. Applications are due by June 15. There is no cost to participate or enter. Neighborhood size is one block area.

Blockwork is sponsored by the Salisbury Community Planning Commission, Salisbury Community Appearance Commission and Salisbury Housing Advocacy Commission.

Blockwork 2018 will be held on “Make a Difference Day,” Saturday, Oct. 27.
