Legion baseball

Rowan County American Legion baseball is scheduled to return to the field tonight.

Rowan plays Davidson County at  Holt-Moffitt Field in Lexingon at 7 p.m.  WSAT 1280 will broadcast the action.

As non-division games go, this is a pretty big one. Rowan is 5-0, while Davidson County Post 8 is 3-0. Davidson has beaten Eastern Randolph, Stanly and Mooresville.

Davidson’s game with Kernersville was washed out on Tuesday, as was the Kannapolis-Mooresville game. That one was pushed  back to June 20.

Rowan is scheduled to play at Greensboro (Eastern Guilford High) on Thursday and is set to open divisional play at Concord (Mount Pleasant High) on Friday. Rowan is home on Saturday against Concord.

Bo Rusher  (Salisbury) got  off to a good start with the South Charlotte Panthers 2019 squad.

South Charlotte went 3-0-1 in games played in the Dynamic Baseball showcase at UNC Pembroke.
