Today: Solid Rock prayer breakfast
Today at 9 a.m. is the Women’s Ministry of Solid Rock Church of God’s annual prayer breakfast at 1004 Locke St. Minister Rose A. Maxwell-Green, associate minister of Potter’s House Outreach Ministries will break the bread of life.

Today: Women’s Day at Ardis Chapel
Ardis Chapel AME Zion Church’s Women’s Celebration starts today with the Women’s Conference at 11:30 a.m. Guest speakers include Teresa Moore and Robin Blackwell plus a jewelry demonstration by Cherita Robinson.
On Sunday at the 10 a.m. service, Rev. Diane Williams from Cedar Grove AME Zion Church will speak.

White Rock AME Zion celebrates 112 years
GRANITE QUARRY — White Rock AME Zion Church will celebrate its 112th anniversary on Sunday at 11 a.m. Reflections will be given by Willie Jean Kennedy, Theresa W. Phelps and Cynthia S. Torrence. The theme is “This Far By Faith.” An old-fashioned church picnic will follow the service. Rev. Thomas D. Lee is host pastor.

Guest speaker at Luther’s Lutheran
RICHFIELD — Luther’s Lutheran Church, at the corner of Stokes Ferry and Richfield Roads, will host Pastor Jeffrey Hoffner as he leads Sunday’s service.

Pentecost at Gloria Dei
Gloria Dei, 1908 Statesville Blvd., will celebrate the festival of Pentecost, the day the Holy Spirit came down onto the disciples to empower them. The wearing of wearing red to symbolize the gift of the Holy Spirit is welcomed and optional. The service is at 11 a.m. There will be a WELCA meet in the fellowship hall afterward.

Rev. Dr. Larry Bost’ 50th anniversary of ordination
CHINA GROVE — Concordia Lutheran Church, Hwy 152 West, will honor Larry Bost and his 50 years of ordained ministry on Pentecost Sunday. There will be one service at 11 a.m. and a drop-in reception 2-4 p.m. in the family life center. Concordia is Bost’s home congregation where he also serves as visitation pastor. Since his retirement, he has served churches in the Rowan County area as interim or supply pastor. He received his bachelor degree from Catawba College with his masters and doctorate from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, S.C.

Women’s Day at Rose of Sharon

CHINA GROVE — The Pastor’s Aide Committee of oak Grove Baptist Church, 1205 S. Main St., will be having a program on Sunday at 3 p.m. The speaker will be Elder Eric Thompson of Jonesville Baptist church of Rincon, Ga.

The Ladies of Hall’s Temple Holiness Church will host their annual Women’s Day on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Dr. Laura Washington of Solid Rock Church of God.

St. John’s Men’s Chorus Spring Concert
The St. John’s Men’s Chorus will present its spring concert, “Peace, Prayer, and Healing,” at 4 p.m. Sunday in the sanctuary, under the direction of Jason Harwood, accompanied by Janie Rollins. This concert will also feature the St. John’s Handbell Ensemble; Kevin Agner, cello; and Rosemary Kinard, flute.

United Ministerial Alliance
The United Ministerial Alliance will host its joint worship service at 7 p.m. on Sunday at St. Luke Baptist Church, 410 Hawkinstown Road. Rev. Elder Bruce, pastor of Hall’s Temple Church, will deliver the message. Rev. Marcus L. Fairley is host pastor.
The UMA’s business meeting is at 12:30 p.m. today at Tower of Power United Holy Church,601 East Cemetery St.

Purpose Driven Life classes In My Father’s House
Purpose Driven Life classes, led by the Rev. Roosevelt Jenkins, will be conducted from noon-1:30 p.m. in the Hurley Room at Rowan Public Library. The next study dates is Thursday, May 24.

‘After the Resurrection’ continues
After the resurrection of Jesus, He appeared to the disciples and other believers over a 40-day period. This series of services at The Breath of God Ministerial Alliance attempts to put these appearances in order and perspective.
