N.C. Department of Transportation contractors will close two of four northbound and southbound lanes on Interstate 85 between Jake Alexander Boulevard and Innes Street on Saturday for repair work on a rehabilitation project in Rowan County.

Alternating lanes will be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. while workers seal concrete roadway joints.

While the highway will not be completely closed, crews will work beside traffic lines. Drivers are urged to slow down in the work zone, watch signs for construction information, and obey the posted speed limit.
