The Rowan-Salisbury Association of Educators on Tuesday released its endorsements for Tuesday’s primary election.

They are:
• Democrat Scott Huffman, U.S. House District 8.
• Republican Bill Sorenson, N.C. Senate District 33.
• Democrat Earle Schecter, N.C. House District 83.
• Republicans Judy Klusman and Jim Greene for the Rowan County Board of Commissioners

The association declined to endorse either Democratic candidate in the primary for Congressional District 13.

Sorenson is a teacher, and Schecter is an experienced educator.

“A mix of Republicans and Democrats, these candidates represent those who have made an effort to communicate palatable platforms to the Rowan-Salisbury Association of Educators Governance Committee,” said James Carter, the association’s incoming vice chairman. “(They) have a history of friendly working relationships with Rowan-Salisbury Schools leaders and/or have practical public school teaching experience in North Carolina.”
