NHRMC Volunteer Breakfast

Jake and Marley were just two of the volunteers celebrated during National Volunteer Week at Novant Rowan Medical Center. At a breakfast held in their honor, Gary Blabon,

Director of Professional and Support Services, and Cora Greene, Chief Nursing Officer, expressed appreciation to the volunteers for their contributions to the medical center.

Over 130 volunteers serve in various areas of the medical center including, but not limited to, the gift shop, surgical waiting room, transportation, reception areas, flower delivery, and in Jake and Marley’s case, pet therapy services. In 2017, volunteers provided 14,400 hours of service equating to $313,820 in paid time. In addition to volunteer hours served, the Auxiliary, which includes all medical center volunteers, provides nursing and volunteer scholarships, financial support to patients, community, and medical center.

Volunteers are always welcome and encouraged. If interested in volunteering,  call Diane Hundley, Volunteer Coordinator, at 704-210-5082.
