Rowan weather: Storms tonight, then the sun returns

Rain will hold off today until around 3 p.m., so the rest of the day will be partly cloudy with a high of 71. East northeast winds will be at just 6 mph. We have a 30 percent of showers this afternoon, but less than a tenth of an inch is expected.

Tonight will be a different story, with a 70 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms, which could bring heavy downpours. The low will be 53, with calm wind. Patchy fog is possible between midnight and 5 a.m. A half to three-quarters of an inch of rain is possible. Showers will continue into Friday morning.

Friday has a 30 percent chance of showers, mainly in the morning, with fog between 7 and 9 a.m. It will become partly sunny, with a high of 72 and west northwest wind around 6 mph.

Friday night will be partly cloudy and 50.

The weekend and into mid-week look like spring is back.

Saturday will be mostly sunny and 73, with west wind at 5-8 mph. The low will be 47.

Sunday will be sunny and 68, with a low of 41.

Monday will be 71, with a low of 48.

More sun for Tuesday, and warmer, with a high of 76. The low will be 54.

Then we might hit 80 degrees Wednesday, with plenty of sunshine.
