Salisbury athletic director Dale Snyder resigns

Salisbury High School principal Luke Brown announced on Thursday that Dale Snyder has resigned as the school’s athletic director.

“Coach Snyder has made extraordinary contributions to the success of Salisbury High athletics,” Brown said in a press release. “I would like to thank Coach Snyder and his family for the countless hours and sacrifices made during his time as the athletic director.”

With Snyder at the helm, Salisbury won six state championshps and 39 Central Carolina Conference championships.

As a coach, Snyder led eight state championship teams in men’s and women’s golf.

“I am thankful for the opportunity to serve in this role for the last five years,” Snyder said. “I love Salisbury High School and I love high school athletics.  I look forward to spending a lot more time with my family, while watching our athletic department continue to grow and succeed.”

Snyder will finish the 2017-2018 school year as athletic director. Salisbury will launch a search for a successor immediately.

“Salisbury High  is committed to the continued success of our athletic program,” Brown said. “We  will continue to focus on the success of our student-athletes and we’ll build on Coach Snyder’s accomplishments.”
