Calvary calls new senior pastor

Calvary Baptist Church has called Rev. Scott Faw as new senior pastor. Please join us in welcoming Scott, Elizabeth and family.
Pastor Faw, a graduate of Fruitland Bible College, has served in the pastorate of several churches as senior pastor. We are excited about the future of our church and this surrounding community under the leadership of our new pastor.

Holy Humor Sunday at South China Grove UMC
CHINA GROVE — At South China Grove United Methodist Church, 230 Rose South Ave., Matthew Weaver will be leading Holy Humor Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Take a trip through the winding back roads of the Appalachian Mountains and laugh at the devil through stories of how the mountain people filled their lives with happiness and joy  through their musical traditions.

Pine Ridge Baptist honors the Bradshaws
CHINA GROVE — On Sunday, Pine Ridge Baptist Church, 880 Old Linn Road, will be honoring Pastor and Mrs. George Bradshaw for 22 years of service in the church. Pastor came March 25, 1996. Dr. and Mrs. J.B. Parker, long time friends of the Bradshaws, will be special guests for the occasion.
Dr. Parker will bring the morning message at 10 a.m. Lunch and fellowship will follow.

The Arbor UMC presents drama
On Sunday, April 15, The Arbor UMC, 5545 Woodleaf Road, will feature the chancel drama titled “The Other Twelve Disciples,” a portrayal of 12 women close to Jesus during his ministry and how they served him in their own unique ways. At the 10:30 a.m. service these women will tell of their encounters and proclaim their belief and faith in Jesus. Linda Painter directs this drama and Craig Sefa is host pastor.

Erwin Temple CME 7 Ups Program
The Pastor’s Aid Ministry of Erwin Temple CME Church, 155 Erwin Temple Church Road, will host its annual Seven Ups program Sunday at 3 p.m.
Six guest speakers will come from various area churches and the seventh speaker will be a member of Erwin Temple. There will be Gospel singing by guests and other talent will be presented. Host pastor is Rev Ervin L. Hannah Jr.

Guest musicians at Mt. Zion UCC
CHINA GROVE — During the 10:30 a.m. service at Mt. Zion UCC, 1415 S. Main St., Carole Brooke will be the guest musician with China Grove’s own Donnie Deal as soloist. Mt. Zion UCC’s Second Sunday Service will be in the church parlor at 1 p.m. and will include communion.

Soldiers Memorial Women’s Fellowship
The Women’s Fellowship of Soldiers Memorial AME Zion Church, 306 N. Church St., will feature Captain Melonie Thompson of the Salisbury Police Department, on Tuesday, April 10 at 11 a.m. Captain Thompson will provide information on individual, home and community safety.
