Blotter: Man attempts to break into Lowe’s Home Improvement

SALISBURY — A Salisbury man is charged with trying to break into Lowe’s Home Improvement, 207 Faith Road, about 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

James Dominic Hildreth, 37, was charged with felony attempted breaking and entering, according to the Salisbury Police Department.

He remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $11,500 secured bond, $10,000 of which is for a felony probation violation.

Hildreth was convicted March 21 of felony credit card theft and misdemeanor financial card fraud. He is currently on two years of probation.

Hildreth also has been convicted of driving while impaired, misdemeanor child abuse on two occasions, misdemeanor assault on a female and driving while license revoked.

In other Salisbury police reports:

• A man on Thursday reported an attempted break-in in the 200 block of East 11th Street.

• Bowman Properties reported Thursday that someone vandalized the property in the 900 block of South Jackson Street.

• A woman on Thursday reported an assault in the 100 block of Ridge Avenue.

• A  woman on Thursday reported that someone stole from Applebee’s Bar & Grill, 205 Faith Road.

• Country Cupboard convenience store reported Thursday that someone forced his way into the business, 2010 Statesville Blvd., about 1 a.m.

In Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports:

• Jerry Brent McIntyre, 39, was charged Wednesday with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia while at the Rowan County Courthouse.

• James Jay Hinsley, 28, was charged on Wednesday with felony possession with intent to manufacture a controlled substance Schedule VI in the 78000 block of Interstate 85 South.

• Donavan Andrew Herbert, 27, was charged Wednesday with felony possession of a stolen vehicle, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance Schedule VI, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor driving while license revoked, and misdemeanor aggressive driving.

• Beavers Auto reported Wednesday that someone took automobile accessories from the business in the 2000 block of Deal Road between July 1, 2017, and Jan. 15.

•  A man reported Wednesday that someone forced his way into his property in the 100 block of Middle Brook Drive, Rockwell.

• Nathan Edward Kluttz, 48, was charged Thursday with felony second-degree kidnapping, violating a protective order, and habitual misdemeanor assault while at the Rowan County Detention Center.

• Rhonda Michelle Rankin, 43, was charged Thursday with misdemeanor assault and battery while at the Rowan County Courthouse.
