ROCKWELL — Powles Staton Funeral Home, located at 913 W. Main St., will offer a free lunch to military veterans from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 26, a Thursday.

Veterans Appreciation Day also will allow veterans to register for door prizes.

The funeral home is encouraging those who attend to bring any worn U.S. flag they are looking to dispose of properly. Powles Staton has a Retire Your Flag With Honor program that provides an additional way to honor deceased veterans who are cremated.

Donations of unwrapped, new toys also will be accepted April 26 for the funeral home’s Operation Toy Soldier program, which provides Christmas toys to the families of N.C. National Guard members.

Contact the funeral home at 704-279-7241 for more information.
