Cleveland installs medication take-back box

CLEVELAND — People looking for a safe way to dispose of unneeded medication can now take it to Cleveland Town Hall.
The town has installed a medication take-back box in the lobby of Town Hall at 302 E. Main St. The box, which is under constant surveillance and alarm, is open to the public 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except on state holidays.
Items that may be deposited into the box are prescription medication, patches and ointments; over-the-counter medications; vitamins; samples from physicians or dentists; and medications for pets.
These items cannot be accepted: hydrogen peroxide; thermometers; inhalers; aerosol cans; needles or lancets; and over-the-counter ointments, lotions and liquids.
