SALISBURY — The April issue of Salisbury the Magazine, a publication of the Salisbury Post, has reached subscribers and is now available throughout Rowan County.

Copies also are available at the circulation desk of the Salisbury Post, 131 W. Innes St.

As prom and wedding seasons come into full swing, this issue features Brenda Neely and her shop, A Perfect Dress, on the cover. The April edition also includes a visit with young entrepreneurs Steve Bauk and Aaron Goss, whose Carolina Malt House near Cleveland supplies locally grown malted barley to craft beer brewers.

The magazine catches up with Carson High School junior Macy Woody, who combines with her Tennessee walking horse, Lacy J. Dollar, to form an award-winning team.

In the arts section, Deirdre Parker Smith writes about well-known local musician Matthew Weaver, who at last count could play 19 different instruments. Susan Shinn Turner stops in for a fine-dining experience at Ivan’s, and Rebecca Rider meets some of the Campbell University medical students who are learning at the elbows of physicians at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.

Elizabeth Cook introduces readers to the funkishly stylish West Thomas Street home of Monique and Jason Owens.

Catawba College and American Legion baseball coach Jim Gantt sits down for a quick question-and-answer interview as April’s Rowan Original.

Bookish covers the release of Kristy Woodson Harvey’s new work. Joel Honeycutt provides a Through the Lens photograph, and Karen South Jones is guest writer for the Salisbury’s the Place column.

Look for friends among the Scene photographs and see what’s happening in the April calendar.

Salisbury the Magazine publishes nine times a year. The May issue should reach subscribers about April 20.
