SALISBURY — A Salisbury woman was charged this weekend with stabbing her boyfriend during an argument.

Rowan County authorities say she helped him stop the bleeding, left the home and returned after he was taken to the hospital.

Authorities received a 911 call Sunday to report that Jacky Lasley III had been stabbed by his girlfriend, Beverly Ann Misenheimer, at a home in the 100 block of Roy Miller Park Road.

A neighbor drove Lasley to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, where he was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.

The two had argued about Misenheimer “hanging out with another man,” Lasley to deputies.

Misenheimer, 25, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

Officers found a small amount of blood on the front porch, but Misenheimer was not there. The doors were locked. They forced their way inside to make sure no one was injured.

Misenheimer then returned to the mobile home with a friend, a sheriff’s report said.

Misenheimer told the deputy that Lasley had been abusive toward her in the past and she came to the home to get her possessions. She said Lasley told her to get her things or he’d burn them. She asked a friend to ride with her to the house. When they arrived, Lasley ran toward her with a crowbar in his hands, she told the deputy.

Misenheimer said she pulled out a pocketknife. She said Lasley grabbed her by the neck and she jabbed at him with the knife, then he fell and grabbed his side.

Both went inside where Misenheimer put a towel on the stab wound to help stop the bleeding, Misenheimer told the deputy.

Misenheimer’s friend said she saw Lasley come out of the home with a sledgehammer. When he got to the vehicle, he dropped the sledgehammer and grabbed Misenheimer, who had gotten out of the vehicle.

According to the friend, she heard Lasley say, “I’m bleeding. You stabbed me bad, Beverly.” She said she saw Lasley pick up the sledgehammer, go inside the house and emerge with a towel. Then he got into his truck and left, the friend said. Misenheimer came out of the house a few minutes later with a book bag, a pillow and food.

Misenheimer remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under no bond because of the domestic nature of the incident. She also received a $500 bond for an outstanding warrant for misdemeanor larceny.

She is expected in court April 23.
